Hard to believe it been 4 years already.

Jethro uses his big boy voice!

I went to gas up the truck (loaded down with my 2 human kids and 4 Dane kids) at the 'cheap'
station after work, but because both the kids were asleep and I didn't want them being woken up by boofing dogs, I pulled into the furthest away, nobody around, pump *insert the start of the horror music here*.
I them go off into La-La Land while watching the number click by on the pump, when in a heart beat a slight movement from the truck made me aware that something wasn't right, and then another heart beat to realize that the dogs were tweaking on something. At this point a very weird, scummy, dark haired guy pops up between the pumps saying "Hey Baby." At that very moment Jethro filled up the open back truck window (backed up by his big half sister Maggie), ears forward and using his biggest, big dog voice, let a deep, loud rumbling growl out.
Weirdo then asks, "Is he vicious?"
"Yes, very!"
Weirdo then takes off, running down the road!! WTF?!? And if I hadn't had an amazing dog what did he think he was going to do? And if he thought the dog was scary, just try and mess with any of my babies (2 or 4 legged!)!
Good boy, Jethro!

After 2 shows Lorek is now at 6 points, and after his first show Jethro is now at 3 points! The boys were amazing.

Tradex Costume Contest

Here is Lorek, all done up for the Hallowe'en Costume Contest at Tradex
he won Best Dress Dog.
What a trooper Lorek was, the saddle was a last minute thing, that only went on his back 10 minutes before he was to go in the ring. He was so good, that when the club was running behind by an hour, he just laid down and waited!!

Saturday - Tradex

Friday - Lorek went Winners Dog for 2 points (he's now at 3 points after only 2 shows)

Saturday - Jethro went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for 3 points (his first points!!)

Lorek won the Best Costume and had a great time!

Happy 12th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Tonka!! The old lady is still going at 12 years old, with her 9 year old son (Duke) and 6 month Grandson (Jethro) following in her footsteps.

Jethro 4 months

I know I'm a wee bit biased, but I'm finding it really hard to take a bad photo of this kid!!

Thankfully at the start of this heat wave, Darcy was still happy to hang out in the kitchen with the air conditioner going full bore, and help with picture taking.

Here is the handsome man at 4 months... I think I will have lots of fun in the show ring with this kid!

Website Update

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am still in the midst of capturing and eradicating internet gremlins that have made updating the website itself near impossible, thanks to FTP programs that don't play nicely with the Mac.

So for now the blog will be the place to look but hopefully I will solve this dilemma sooner rather then later!

Advantage

Just a reminder - time to start using Advantage for fleas on the dogs!  You don't have to use it year round but during these great spring/summer months, it's a good idea.

9 weeks Jethro

I thought it was about time I showed off my little man, Jethro!

Jethro hooked up to a tie out, I figured it would be a great way of showing his growth.

It's been an absolute thrill to have this little man around, it seems that he is his Grandma Tonka - a do all kinda kid!

I thought I would weight Jethro in today and was laughing to myself when
the scale said 2 lbs 12.6 oz.
My "poor, skinny boy" I must go feed him now! LOL

Some of you might think I'm crazy - well okay, all of you know I'm crazy - but I've been putting on my little thinking cap and have come up with some thought for Jethro's registered name.
Since Jethro means 'friend of God' and is also the name of a favourite TV character Jethro Gibbs of mine; that to take it once step further and use Gibbs background of being a Marine to use:
MiHi' s Semper Fidelis
Semper Fidelis for all of you that don't speak Latin means "Always Faithful"....seems very fitting for a Dane if you ask me!

Envy and Jethro are doing well.

All this boy does is eat! Thankfully our vet Dr. Burton rocks and did a fantastic job on timing the c-section. Not only was Jethro fully 'cooked' but he was taken out before Envy's uterus started to break down.
